Editor, Business.com & Work.com, Business.com & Work.com
Santa Monica, CA, USA
Daniel heads the Content Development team at Business.com, the world's top B-to-B search site, and helped conceive, build and launch Work.com from scratch in '06. He was named Small Business Journalist of the Year for 2008 by the Los Angeles District, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and has held key positions for creating, acquiring and publishing “content” his entire career. This once meant magazine and newspaper articles, books, columns, scripts, speeches, videos, resource directories, reviews and the like. In today's online world it's all just called “content," but Daniel remains dedicated to delivering useful, high-quality information that helps businesses solve problems, grow and prosper. He was founder of BizBest Media Corp., which was partially absorbed by Business.com, which itself was acquired in Aug. '07 by R.H. Donnelley, a $2.7 billion yellow pages publisher. As Editor at Business.com and Work.com Dan is responsible for creating, acquiring and managing original content -- including news, blogs and How-to Guides on every business, management, financial, employment or industrial topic that people search for. He has over 20 years of media experience in New York, Washington, DC and Los Angeles. In addition, Daniel writes a nationally-syndicated business column and helped create and launch several national business magazines and websites, including Independent Business (now MyBusiness) and Emerging Business, both multiple award winners. His seven books, including Doing Business Boldly: The Art of Taking Intelligent Risks (Times Books/Random House), Save Your Business a Bundle (Simon & Schuster), The 100 Best Resources for Small Business (BizBest Media) and 12 Steps to a Worry-Free Retirement (Kiplinger Books), have been published in multiple languages worldwide. Daniel founded several businesses, including BizBest Media Corp., and custom publisher Group IV Communications Inc.

  • It sounds like what you might really want is a remote check deposit device that acts like a tiny ATM right on your desktop. These let you instantly convert paper checks to electronic deposits that go directly to your business bank account. Our Guide to Remote Check Deposit right here at Work.com has all the details.
  • I recently came across an interesting online project management and job tracking site built just for freelancers and small business owners in the creative and design fields. CreativeTrack.com makes it easy to jot down notes, log hours, look up clients and generally keep your projects organized no matter where you are. Even better, individual freelance accounts are free. It’s basically a one-person operation, but the owner guarantees satisfaction.
