I attended a conference last week with some reps from Google who confirmed that they reward destination sites that have higher quality scores with lower prices in AdWords. Depending on where your landing page resides it could be resulting in a higher cpc. They did stress the fact that this is one of many considerations they take into scoring links and that the content and inbound links should be more of a concern. One other tip they gave was to make sure that the landing page is part of the site map and not acting as a mirror.

Having a socially responsible mission and following through with actions is a great way to not only help out in the community, but can also increase your brand visibility as well as improve the image. Even if you don't have a lot of time there are great organizations out there that are worth supporting. Currently the company I work for gives money to Kiva, a small business micro lending company that specializes in giving to women in poverty stricken regions. One of the incredible things about this is that the money loaned has a 96% repayment rate. You can give whatever amount you want(we typically give $50-$100 to several groups) and they are paid back over the course of the year with updates on how the loan has created businesses and opportunities.

Trisha, I enjoyed this guide, you raise some good points and provide a good list of resources. A great resource I have found that discusses workplace safety and techniques to reducing workers compensation claims is the CompEraser Blog.

Candis,
This guide addresses a topic that is on the minds of many employees and employers: How to improve morale without hurting productivity. Done properly, as discussed above, not only will it help morale, but improve productivity. One thing that I would add is that when setting goals it is good to have the employee participate. This will allow them to feel as part of the organization and get them invested in completing that goal. Good Job!

All of these posters are available for free, if you are looking to save some cash and print out state and federally compliant posters instead of using costly services, visit, www.hrsentry.com and click on the "FREE Workplace Posters" button on the lower right side of the page. These posters are all 100% compliant and updated regularly. This is something no business can afford to overlook, fines for not having a poster up can reach several thousand dollars.

Matt,
This is a good guide. Workers Compensation and workplace safety are hot topics that need to be addressed by many organizations across the country. Since workplace safety regulations change from state to state it is important that you make sure your are following the proper guidelines. A great resource for helping to manage and lower workers compensation claims is CompEraser.

Keeping good employees is one of the most important aspects of any company, they are the people that make your company work. I would definitely agree with Scott's point about how different employees are motivated in their unique ways. I would also add that whenever you can involve the employee in goal setting and job alignment it will only help to bond the employee to that plan of action. Doing this allows them to feel as part of the process and a valued member of the team. Again I enjoyed the guide, good resources!

This guide has a number of good resources and ideas on landing page SEO, nice job Eve. One thing that I am intrigued about is the point that Eric brought up, "Google Adwords is now judging the landing pages and giving them a quality score. A "poor" quality score will send your cost per click to $5 or $10 even for phrases that others are paying pennies for." I am wondering if anyone has any additional information on the quality score of the target impacting cpc.
