My Comments

  • Makdove, I'm sorry this happened to you! Hopefully someone with more experience in career issues will post a reply, but my advice is that if you don't ask, you don't get. Instead of stewing and being angry about the non-appearing bonus, ask your boss about it. If it makes you feel more confident, you can even write a quick script of what you'd like to say and practice it first. Then approach your boss in a non-confrontational way and let her know that you were very excited that she likes your work well enough to give you a bonus -- and that she has noticed your willingness to work overtime -- but you're concerned that ithe bonus hasn't yet appeared. This will remind your boss of your great work and give her a chance to explain what has happened with the bonus. Good luck! Linda http://www.writeformagazines.com
  • Great article! I can't wait to try out some of these tools.
