Hi, Donna:
That's a very nice looking theme (Thesis Theme designed by Chris Pearson who has designed a bunch of Wordpress themes). As with so much about computers and the internet, things get kind of complicated really fast (even though they may actually be quite simple once you figure them out). Thesis Theme is a Wordpress theme. Themes in the Wordpress world are "looks" or "styles" designed by hundreds or thousands of people; there are gazillions of themes out there for you to choose from.
Themes are the "skin" that you place over the parts that make up your website. They specifically use the presentational features of XHTML/CSS.
Other solutions sometimes call their themes "templates." Wordpress calls the parts that make up your dynamically generated webpages, such as your header, sidebar, footer and main content area, templates. That makes sense to me but I can see how the terms "themes" and "templates" seem interchangeable and potentially confusing.
So, Thesis Theme is one of those gazillions of themes that are available for you to use if you set up your website using Wordpress, either their hosted version or their stand-alone version.
There is always the possibility that the "theme designer" may not have crossed all of their "i"s and dotted all of their "T"s... so, a theme could have some elements that don't work as they should. However, this would work on a Wordpress website, so it should work great!
