Nice post. The idea of using PPC broad based matches, and then mining the best conversions from Google Analytics is very cutting edge and something I think every business should consider doing.

This guide is ok, but does not cover much in terms of new studies in SEO. Not cloaking, creating proper tags - this information in the SEO world was available 5 years ago.
Although important, this does not itself provide a great list of items you need to check.
Linking out to bad neighborhoods, using hidden divs, creating a mega menu which contains overuse of keywords, developing paid links without trust - these are techniques and metrics which are much more scrutinized by the modern SEO.

Well done! In this day and age much of what we do online is about ensuring that the customer gets as much as possible from the website and that we are converting customers. Just having content is not really enough anymore, the content must meet the visitor's questions halfway, and respect their position in the buying cycle.

Excellent article. You may have overstated how easy and cost effective it is to use Google Adwords - in many sectors, even with professional help, the cost to compete with the bigger players with fulltime SEM's is too much to bear for the average business.

Excellent guide. Analytics is incredibly important especially in the PPC Guide. There are a number of great books out there if you feel you need a good study around landing page conversion - "Landing Page Optimization" by Tim Ash.
Analytics and conversion are key in a day and age of overoptimized websites and a sea of competition.

Hi Shara. Some search engines don't place the same value in social bookmarking. Part of social media is a natural inclination to return to user generated results. Indeed, this is the goal of the major search engines - to review pages algorithmically 'as if' they were being reviewed manually by an editor. Social media is a good barometer for search engines to use to gauge the value of a given page.
However, like many things, there are ways to encourage your own rankings based on this information such as creating topical information hubs, interlinked topical bases along with bookmarking of those pages.
That will be a topic for a future post:)
