I was born and raised in a small northeast Ohio town. I moved to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University and decided to make this city my home. After teaching in a suburban school district and at Columbus State Community College, I decided to shift my focus to writing and editing educational materials. I was employed by a large publishing company, for which I still perform freelance editing. I recently formed my own company, Kovalyak Editorial, Ltd. This gives me the opportunity to work and be a stay-at-home-mom. Along with my career, I am also a board member for the local MOMs Club and a Chapter Advisor for the Sigma Kappa Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority. During the small amounts of free time that I have, I enjoy reading mystery novels, cooking, working crosswords and other puzzles, and relaxing outside.
