I like to think that the process starts even before the orientation, with effective promotion for the open positions. A business can really benefit and save time by attracting the right type of applicants before the interviewing begins.

Before I read this article, I'd never heard of an "elevator pitch". After reading it, I realize it is absolutely essential! We were recently a part of a large conference and were confronted with the challenge to do just what your article suggests, but were unprepared. While we explained in detail what it is we do, I don't know if we actually reached anyone!
