My Comments

  • I have not though about of it. But, now that you ask, I'll keep it in mind. I'd really be interested in seeing some articles about how people put everything they can on the stock market, even if the return is better at home. Or, statistics showing what percentage of investment in the stock market is actually reinvested in the United States. I am beginning to think that everything thing that isn't bolted down is at risk.

This is the patent for the special squirrel proof top:D0373660 for the feeder. This was my first patent. It is for getting temporary control of drippy faucets, while you wait months for the plumber:04784184, which works great. I have another for a free-floating solar powered fountian. But 3 links like these excedes the the number of characters allowed for comments. If you are interested I can send it in the next reply. The # is 0617921. In case you did not know, the numbers are the actual patent numbers which can be quried directly.

I was able to cut and paste it into the locator bar of a Dell at the library. The first time around, on a Mac, I could not able to make a hot link. Try this: Patent number D0361172

Here are the actual patent numbers which can queried from the uspto.gov site:D361,172 and D373,660. There are actually two. You can also try the try the link below ( I don't know if the link is going to work.) http://patimg2.uspto.gov/.piw?Docid=D0361172&homeurl=http%3A%2F%2Fpatft.uspto.gov%2Fnetacgi%2Fnph-Parser%3FSect1%3DPTO2%2526Sect2%3DHITOFF%2526p%3D1%2526u%3D%25252Fnetahtml%25252FPTO%25252Fsearch-bool.html%2526r%3D4%2526f%3DG%2526l%3D50%2526co1%3DAND%2526d%3DPTXT%2526s1%3Dpratique%2526s2%3Dchristopher%2526OS%3Dpratique%252BAND%252Bchristopher%2526RS%3Dpratique%252BAND%252Bchristopher&PageNum=&Rtype=&SectionNum=&idkey=NONE&Input=View+first+page

Your point is a good one. Thank you for your comment.

A true story is a good. The bird feeder invention story is not necessarily one of failure, but one of partial success.

I have found that people who are interested in pursuing a product of their own invention are very interested in anecdotal accounts, war stories, which can be difficult to find. To them, that is substance. Its becomes a small case study. Systematic or scientific evaluations are also valuable when making decisions. However, statistics can be detached and vague. A person considering making an invention may be better prepared if they look at my story and think how to avoid what happening to me, from happening to them.
