  • Thanks for the positive comments everyone. Eric - good idea, I am currently working on a similar guide for the checkout funnel. Hopefully will have it finished within a couple of weeks. Melissa - have a look at John Lewis a UK-based generalist store and Darty, a French-based electrical goods store. Both these sites inspire customer confidence from the homepage.

  • Hi Jennifer I cant agree more with the "Make pages load quickly" tip. Its probably the single most cause of drop-out on any web page. Using flash-based applications is also risky, as often they are not backwards-compatible and force the user to download a plugin (that he probably wont need to use anywhere else...) before he can access the page.
