  • Wow an amazing list of resources! What always amazes me though is how little is spoken of when starting a business is about merchant accounts. Payment processing is always forgotten about by newbie business owners and left to the last minute. Scrambling for merchant services at the last minute can lead to poor decisions and poor decision making on something that costs most companies anywhere from 3-5% of their sales volume really shouldn't be left to last minute.
  • Daniel, Great guide! I have been involved in the payment processing industry for over 4 years in Canada and this guide you wrote will certainly help any merchant get started in the right direction. However, I do find that a lot of resources lack any real substance for Canadians. I created an information site that may be of use to anyone looking for more information on Canadian Merchant Accounts.
  • Susan, thanks for the feedback and to answer you Q's - yes, there is more to marketing your gift and loyalty cards then this, you can go to my site and subscribe to a free guide that will give you tons of great marketing ideas. here is the link: http://www.canadian-merchant-account-services.com/card-marketing-guide.html
  • Yes some very good insights and suggestions, a book I also found useful was Get Back In The Box, where Douglas Rushkoff offers some insights to bring owners back to some of the basics.
